Introduction

256 GB not enough? real, some of these models of laptops, if you have the 38Wh model, have 2 slots for storage, an m.2 and a 2'5 slot, today, I will show you how to utilise the 2'5 slot (10pin FFC needed for this model), I didn't see enough guides for this model and it really is an underrated laptop, the 2'5 slot handles up to 1 TB of storage, the upgrade is worth it as I play many sorts of games and 256 won't cut it for me, I have a Samsung Evo 870 1tb installed, this tutorial should work for any 2'5 drive.

    • 1. open laptop, you need a phillips screw (4 points) screws are flat.

    • 2, navigate to the little ffc concetor, should be on your right hand side across the empty gap

    • connect sata end of ffc to 2'5 hdd/ssd, and install the ffc end to the small flappy bit (DON'T REMOVE THE BLUE THING)make sure the ffc cable has room to get out so you can make the connection, the cable may be adjusted to reach the slot.

    • your ssd/hdd should fit, in rare circumstances, you may need to adjust brackets or something, my Samsung 2'5 SSD fit right in with a light push.

    • this step is obvious, but i will include it, just put the cover back on and screw everything back in.

Conclusion

there, now you have another drive in your v14 g2 alc.
