Introduction

The keyboard can be damaged easily as it is one of the most used components to communicate with your device. Be sure to try disconnecting and reconnecting the wire of the keyboard since it can easily be disconnected. If that doesn't work, follow this simple instruction to replace your keyboard.

    • It's best to touch the ground before you start to be sure you won't shock any components.

    • Use a T6 Torx screwdriver to unscrew the nine M2 x 6.5mm screws.

    • Using a plastic spudger, carefully lift the palmrest from the bottom cover.

    • Be careful while removing the keyboard, and unplug the connections.

    • Unfortunately, the keyboard is secured using melted plastic pins on the back plate of the keyboard, which cannot be redone, making the repair easy but not very environmentally friendly.

    • The pieces are mostly secured with glue and melted plastic, making it impossible to put them back to getter after opening them.

    • That there is a barcode on some parts that, when scanned, will you to available replacement parts.

    • The two indicated attachments allow the keyboard and touchpad to be plugged into the motherboard. The red circle indicates the place for the touchpad, and the red rectangle shows the place for the keyboard wire.

    • The black plastic piece that holds the wire in place needs to be closed while covering the whole wire.
