The washing cycle is interrupted, the control panel screen displays OE error code, and the drum is filled with water.
-
I prepare the materials I need to open the drain pump to empty the drum. I use the base of a 25 liter detergent container, that I cut to fit the size of the washer's gap.
-
-
-
To assist in opening the filter cover, we can use a blunt knife or a flat screwdriver.
-
The pump is located in the bottom tray, we need to turn the filter cap a couple of turns, WITHOUT UNSCREWING IT COMPLETELY, this way we are slowly opening and closing to drain the water slowly without flooding the room.
-
-
-
We open, drain a bit of water, then close and empty the tray. This needs to be done successively until no more water comes out.
-
-
-
Once all the water is gone, we can remove the cap. And surprise, this is what is causing the blockage, several objects that we put in our pockets that then end up in the washer.
-
-
-
It is very important to check the filter with a flashlight and make sure there are no objects left in the gap or the drain pump propeller. Also, you can slowly stick your fingers in the tube on the left side, where the water gets to the pump, if you feel any objects they have to be removed.
-
-
-
This is a home made tool that I also use to check the pump's propeller without having to remove it.
-
This is a PVC tube, 16 mm by 20 cm (tube used for electrical installations). I used a saw and a small file to make four slits on one end so I can grip the propeller and confirm if it rotates or not.
-
-
-
The tube is inserted to grip the propeller, then it needs to be rotated to confirm if there is any issue or resistance when turning (damaged motor).

Once the filter is clean, we put the cap back on and then check to see if the washer completes the cleaning and spin cycle.
