Introduction

Disassembling a tablet often requires some gentle prying of the frame. Be sure to exercise care during these first few steps(disassembling), and do not lose your screws! The Paperwhite is a sturdy tablet that can be broken down into just a few components. This guide will show you in just three short steps how to replace a bad power button.

Can you tell me where to find a replacement button?

    Chris Lewis -

    You ever found the button?

    Luka Buic -

funny. I couldn’t locate a button either. I did however use an old Nintendo DS stylus sandpapered down. this would go into the power button hole and turn it on/off. hope it helps others!

I have problems with my power button and this is very nice presentation, but I would like to know whether this button is an integral part of the back cover or can be purchased separately and, of course, where it can be purchased.

Thank you for answer and best regards,

Bojan

Seconding this: where exactly can I purchase the button?

Oren Leifer -

Same for me…..where can I buy this button?

Rob Hoenstok -

The power button must be part of an assembly that attaches to the main board in order for it to function. Where can I buy this assembly and not just the plastic button itself?

This information is not useful unless the author tells us where to buy the power buttin.
