Introduction
The MateBook E is a beautiful device, but with one caveat, especially on the entry level spec: the installed storage is too small.
In this guide you will replace the M.2 2280 NVMe SSD. Either to increase the storage, or to replace a broken part.

Parts
-
-
Heat up the iOpener for 30 seconds in the microwave. Then, heat up the bottom edge of the display for 90 seconds.
-
Place the iSclack in the middle of the bottom edge.
-
Press the iSclack to create a small gap between the display and the case.
-
Once you've opened a sufficient gap, insert an opening pick into the gap.
-
-
-
Slice through the adhesive under the screen by sliding the pick along the edge of the display, towards the bottom corners.
-
Leave the pick in place temporarily to prevent the adhesive from re-sealing.
-
Heat up the other edges of the display with the iOpener and work your way through all sides.
-
-
-
Lift the display from the right side (with the camera).
-
Remove the two PH1-screws and the bracket.
-
Disconnect the display cable with the iFixit Opening Tool.
-
Remove the entire display and put it aside.
-
-
-
Remove the 46 silver PH1-screws.
-
Remove the 4 black PH1-screws.
-
Remove the middle frame. The battery is attached on the underside, the frame might be heavier than initially expected.
-
-
-
Remove the PH1-screw, mounting the M.2 SSD.
-
Remove the heat shield from the old SSD and attach it to the new SSD.
-
Install the new SSD into the laptop with the screw.
-
-

Remove any residue of the old tape from the four edges of the case.

Remove any residue on the back side of the display.

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.

Which thickness should the new Tape have? 1/2/4/8mm?

I used 3M 300LSE in 10mm width, but 8mm should work as well. I used a pick to get the tape fully into the edge and then trimmed the excess on both sides with a sharp knife, so the width doesn't really matter as long as its wide enough to cover the surface at the edge. Ideally, you use a precut tape if those are available.
What's the largest storage capacity you can put into this device?
I'm planning on upgrading mine.
It‘s a M.2 slot, so basically any 2280 NVMe will fit. The sweet spot right now seem to be 2TB or 4TB SSDs, depends on your budget of course.
Tenía pensado comprar está ssd https://www.mercadolibre.com.mx/pcie-gen...
