Try on both shoes to determine which will be the left shoe and which will be the right.

Mark the sole of each shoe as left or right with a pen.

Try on your pointe shoes.

With the shoe on, measure the length of the elastic from one side of the ankle across to the other side of your foot.

Cut the elastic to your desired length.

Repeat step 3 three more times to add a total of four elastics, placing two on each shoe.

Thread your needle and sew the first elastic near the mark.

Start sewing from the inside of the shoe to the outside for a clean finish and a secure stitch.
