Whether the glass broke while moving or someone knocked it off a shelf, you can replace glass in a variety of ways. This guide will cover the process of cutting the glass yourself.
Glass can help protect your photos from humidity, heat, and overall cleanliness. Some glass can help with glares or protect from ultraviolet rays.
This guide will have sharp edges from the glass you will be cutting. Ensure you take the proper safety precautions throughout this guide.

Undo the fasteners holding the back onto the frame.

Grab the backing to pull it away from the frame.

Set the hook of your measuring tape against one of the inside edges of the frame.

Pull the measuring tape to the inside edge of the opposite side and record the measurement.

Repeat this step on the remaining side.

Set the hook of your measuring tape on the top right corner of the new glass.

Pull the measuring tape to the first measurement you got from the previous step and mark it with a sharpie.

Repeat this step on the same corner going in the other direction for the second measurement.

Align the cutting mat along the marks you made on the glass.

Place the china marker on one edge of the glass, and use the cutting mat to help create a line going to the other end.

Place the blade of the glass cutter on the edge of the glass, and follow the same path you created with the china marker to score the glass.

Align the scored mark you created on the glass to an edge of a table.

Place one hand in the middle of the glass on the table, and grab the end hanging off the table with your other hand.

Press down gently on the glass with both hands to separate both pieces.

Apply rubbing alcohol to a microfiber cloth.

Rub the edges of your glass carefully to remove any marks you created.

Place the top of the glass in the picture frame.

Lower the bottom of the glass into the frame.

To reassemble your picture frame, follow step one in reverse order.
