Introduction
This is a beginner’s guide to repairing a small hole in clothing by sewing. This technique is easy enough to complete even in a fashion emergency. However, be careful when handling a needle. Never lose sight of your needle and always place it back in a safe spot.
Tools
-
-
Find the thread that matches the colour of the clothing you are going to repair.
-
Measure and cut a piece of string a minimum of 20x the length of the hole.
-
-
-
Pull the thread through until the length of both ends of the thread are the same length.
-
Tie the ends in a double knot.
-
-
-
Pinch the fabric to close the hole, and weave the needle back and forth through the pinch until the hole is sealed.
