Introduction

Use this guide to mend a hole in a cotton blanket rather than throwing it out. You can save money and help the environment by reusing your blanket. Note that this guide uses a cotton blanket thus, the sewing process is different than a thick and fuzzy blanket. This guide will go over the tools needed to repair a cotton blanket. This is a simple guide for people with little or no sewing experience.

  1. dDo1aPsegOTCuFJx
    • Find the hole in the blanket

  2. LAVDWLUHZPjQdYOS
    • Put the needle through the blanket, right below the hole picking up just a little bit of the fabric and do not pull the thread all the way through.

    • Repeat step 2 about 2 more times by inserting the needle through the same hole

  4. gkEqSLNwOkQHEFGY
    • On the last you pull, do not pull all the way for it creates a loop. Put your needle through the loop, pull the thread all the way and this creates a secure knot.

  6. 6MIFVB21FkAc1bED
    • Repeat step 5 going in an upward direction until you have reached the top of the hole.

  7. xCSwXLBdxG3t1ubs
    • The last thread you pull through, do not pull all the way but instead put your need through the loop it creates and create a secure knot. Repeat this step about 2-3 more times threading through the same hole to create an extra secure knot.

  8. GYK4veao1HYCcDPo
    • Snip off the thread and make sure the hole has been mended. You can clean it up by trimming any loose fabric.
