Introduction

The main button on the Withings Thermo will lose the clicky feel over time as the dish that provides that feeling slides over time. This guide is how to re-tape this dish over the button to fix this issue.

    • This is held on by strong magnets and can be difficult to do the first time

    • The AAA batteries can be reused after this fix.

    • The bottom screws are shorter than the top screws in case you get them mixed up

    • Start from the top. Note that the battery springs on the top are connected to the circuit board underneath. Also, the bottom springs are connected to the main board via two wires, so be careful not to pull too sharply.

    • There is a 10 pin right angled connector at the bottom right of the circuit board. Use a plastic spudger to slide the connector upwards.

    • When you flip over the circuit board, you will probably find the dish that provides the clickyness of the button has shifted due to merely being taped on. Remove the old tape and prepare a new piece of tape approximately the same size. Carefully retape the button dish in the center of the square and test the clickyness.

    • You do not need to remove the screws or the circuit board from the bottom of the device.

    • Be careful when sliding the battery springs back into the battery cover.

Conclusion

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.
