Introduction

Vertical lines are a common problem faced by DIY repairers after replacing the screen on an iPhone. Most of the time this isn't a defective screen and can be resolved with a little troubleshooting.

If the issue persists after troubleshooting using these steps you may have a defective part.

    • ESD is a common culprit behind display malfunction.

    • Ground yourself and your device to discharge any built up static charge before repairing your phone. The best way to do this is to use an anti-static mat and wear an anti-static wrist strap.

    • Check the display connections on the cables and the logic board. Dirt, dust or debris can cause a faulty connection and should be cleaned with a soft brush and high concentration isopropyl alcohol (at least 90%). Inspect the connectors and clean as necessary.

    • Isopropyl alcohol is a mild skin and eye irritant. Use gloves and eye protection while working with isopropyl alcohol.

  3. jSycAMTBuDyRTZbC
    • The display has an IC that could be damaged. Check particularly on the upper left and right corners. Any signs of damage indicate the part is defective and needs to be replaced with a new one.

Conclusion

Screens are fragilé (it must be Italian)

I had the same problem when removing and installing an iPhone 6 plus battery. After connecting all four flex cables to the mother board the phone either would not boot up or there were vertical lines on the display. Basics, basics, basics……unplug battery connector. Unplug all four flex cable connectors. Re-attach all four flex cable connectors, then connect battery flex cable. After installing both metal shields and closing the phone it booted up properly and worked just like new. Viola!

Did you have any problems after doing that to your phone? Or does it still have the lines?

How to fix the vertical lines camera on iPhone 6

My iPod 4th gen (16 gb) started doing this with the screen (minus the lines).

It’s just fuzzy and it will load and such and works fine otherwise.

If I wait about 30 mins to an hour, it will clear up and be a normal screen again.

I just don’t know how to fix it if it gets worse. Right now I can still kind of see what’s on the screen when this happens.

My iPhone6s has been turning on the apple logo then going to a blank screen with a single line threw it for the past week or so and continues to not turn on any suggestions on how to clear these glitches from the software?
