Introduction

This guide provides instructions to replace the AC power adapter on an unresponsive HP Officejet Pro 6230 Printer. Even though this is an older model printer, it is wireless: this makes it a perfect candidate for iFixit because most people would throw away an old model printer when it's dead, but since it is wireless, it still has the potential to be used alongside new technology. Because of its age, there are not many online guides to help with repairs.

    • Turn the printer around and locate the back panel for power.

    • Note: If you are unsure where the panel is located, look in the back right corner. The panel has “100-240V~50/60 Hz 700 mA” inscribed on it.

    • Unscrew the 0.8 mm screw holding in the panel using a T6 Torx screwdriver.

    • Note: Rotate the screw counterclockwise to loosen. Keep it in a safe place.

  5. AMOvO2gDT2SGr2Kv
    • Unplug the current adapter from the wire.

    • Grasp the end of the connector, not the wires, to pull it out.

    • Affix the new adapter to the same wire.

Conclusion

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.
