Introduction
Use this guide to replace your HP Elitebook Folio 9470m Trackpad
If your laptop no longer is responsive to movements on the trackpad or does not function properly, your trackpad is likely faulty and may need replacement. There are no special skills involved in the replacement if the trackpad.
Before using this guide, make sure to review the troubleshooting page to ensure that the trackpad doesn't have any driver issues or other issues.
Make sure to power off your laptop completely and disconnect from any external power source before beginning the process.

In the center of the laptop slide the black piece back till it turns red indicating it is unlocked and the battery can be removed.

Remove the 4 Phillips screws holding the hard drive in place

Remove by gently prying and pulling up on the tab and out.

Remove the 3 Phillips head screws holding the back plate in.

Gently pull up and out to remove plate.

Remove all eighteen screws marked M2x3 and M2x5.

Remove the remaining four Phillips head screws.

Slowly pry and lift the frame up while checking for connected wires and ribbons that may be obstructing it.

Detach ribbon wires by gently lifting the grey flap and pulling them out.

Push the track pad from the bottom and it should come right out.

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.

Please make sure the Track Pad is not "turned off:" (HP Folio has a Track Pad on/off feature by double-tap in upper left hand corner)
1) Double tap the upper left corner of the Track Pad by the Amber LED
2a) If the LED is "On" then the Track Pad is "Off"
2b) If the LED is "Off" then the Track Pad is "On"
