Introduction

If your Google Pixelbook Go's left charging port is no longer working, use this guide to learn how to disassemble the device in order to remove the left charging port.

Before using this guide, check the charging port for debris. To remove any debris, use an ESD-safe brush or small dust blower. You should also test that the cable you are using charges the device to ensure the faulty part is the charging port and not the cable.

Before you begin, make sure to disconnect the device from any external power sources

    • Flip the device so that the back is facing up.

    • Peel the rubber stoppers off the top and bottom of the device.

    • Remove ten 3 mm screws from around the edge of the back panel using a T5 Torx screwdriver.

    The front 2 middle screws have a slightly thinner thread, so keep them to one side and put them back in the same holes.

    • Use an iFixit opening tool to pry up the back panel cover.

    • There is an orange ribbon cable that connects the cover to the base, so don't separate the two pieces completely.

    • Remove the single 2 mm screw using a Torx T3 screwdriver.

    • Disconnect the orange cable from the base of the device.

    • Remove the three pink screws using a T3 Torx screwdriver.

    • Carefully grab the silver tab and slide the left charging port out of the laptop.
