Introduction

Use this guide to replace a faulty battery in your Google Pixelbook Go.

The battery is what stores power in order for the laptop to run. Check out this Troubleshooting page if the device is not charging in case something besides the battery is at fault. If the battery itself is not charging, it will need to be replaced with a new one.

It is recommended to purchase a new battery that comes with a new back cover attached, as it is very easy to damage the battery by peeling it off the cover.

Make sure the Pixelbook is completely powered down before beginning these steps.

    • Remove ten 3 mm screws from around the edge of the back panel using a T5 Torx screwdriver.

The front 2 middle screws have a slightly thinner thread, so keep them to one side and put them back in the same holes.

    • Use an iFixit opening tool to pry up the back panel cover.

    • There is an orange ribbon cable that connects the cover to the base, so don't separate the two pieces completely.

    • Remove the single 2 mm screw using a Torx T3 screwdriver.

    • Disconnect the orange cable from the base of the device.
