Introduction
Hello!
In this guide I'll show you how to remove or replace keyboard in Fujitsu Lifebook E556 notebook!
Tools
-
-
Remove battery:
-
1. Pull down and hold that little tab.
-
2. Move left that slider.
-
3. Pull up to remove battery from laptop.
-
-
-
Remove screws marked in white and red circles.
-
Note: those in red circles are holding the keyboard and are different than those in white circles. Don't mix them!
-
-
-
Put a plastic tool (plastic card, spudger or guitar pick) between that bar and the rest of case (in places marked by arrows). It's holding only on clips- gentle pry until it breaks free.
-
When either of sides are free, pry that tab from behind (area marked by red rectangle, but from the back of the laptop - image very difficult to take).
-
-
-
Now, keyboard can be lifted, but it still connected to the motherboard. Gently pull it up.
-
When in horizontal position, you will see keyboard connector on the left. Pull the tabs out (1) then pull the flex cable out too (2).
-
Keyboard is now free.

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.
