Introduction

The original contacts on most Roomba vacuums are subject to wear and, over a period of time, lose their connectivity. The result is charging problems. This kit can fix these charging issues.

The great thing about installing these covers is that the original contacts on the Roomba won't wear out further. So, these caps are proactive as well as reactive fixes to charging issues.

    • 1) Flip the Roomba over and remove your side brush.

    • 2) Remove OR loosen the screws holding the black bottom cover on.

    • 3) Carefully position your back plastic cover so that the new nickel caps line up with the rectangle holes of the bottom cover.

    • 4 )With your thumb, push down slowly but with enough force to push down the plastic on both sides of the contact holes. Your thumb will be by the center wheel. Do this for each contact. The new caps will form and fit into the rectangular holes of your bottom plate. You will need to press hard so the bottom plate seats.

    • 5) Once everything is in place, tighten the screws that hold the bottom black cover onto the Roomba.

    • 6) Put your side brush back on.

    • 7) Press down hard on each new contact cap using your thumbs to ensure they are well seated. Send your Roomba home to test or place on the dock contacts

Conclusion

The new nickel contact covers will protect the original charging plates of the Roomba and reestablish a quality connection to the dock.
