Introduction
If your Dyson V8 Animal is not performing at optimal efficiency, you may need to replace or clean the intake filter. The intake filter collects dust and other items to allow the vacuum to perform at peak efficiency. A broken or dirty filter will make the vacuum perform poorly.
Before using this guide, inspect the intake filter. Sometimes, the intake filter only needs to be washed and cleaned rather than being replaced completely.
No special skills are required for this guide.
Before beginning, make sure to turn off the vacuum and disconnect it from any external power source.

Its the post motor exhaust. It’s not an intake. I am only being pedantic because I have spent ages trying to work out the whistling sound and it;s because on max it pushes the HEPA filter on this part out too hard on the catches and the rubber seal does not stay tight.
