Introduction

The Dyson DC24 has a common fault where the lower small bearing breaks off the axel and makes the ball loose and not roll properly.

This guide will show you how to replace the lower small bearing.

    • Recline vacuum all the way to expose as much of the ball as possible.

  2. CvNBbdGEEsAgGsFL
    • Using a Torx screwdriver, remove the four screws that hold both sides of the ball together.

  3. QWeBqsikMuEVNsiO

    • When reassembling, it is easiest to put the vacuum in its upright position to insert the axel screws.

    • The red arrow points to the type of torx screws that hold the motor in place while the orange arrow points to the type that hold the orange ball together.

One thing to note. Is the hose that is disconnected on step 6. Gets clogged often if you have long haired dogs. And in some cases there is another spot if you follow that around that has a u joint and it clogs often as

When replacing the bearings, is there only one small bearing set to replace or are there two sets, one on each side? If there are two, should they both be replaced?

I believe there is only one you need to replace. This was a common issue with the DC24.

Thanks for the guide. $20 for the part and 20 minutes later, I saved myself $400.

You, sir, are awesome.

Bless you for the guide.

No worries! I made this guide to help people do that exact thing.
