Introduction

This guide shows the challenges that stop us from properly repairing this type of mixer.

    • Finding and fixing the problem is a cinch!

    • Disassembling the mixer is very destructive!

    • This appliance is a clear example of planned obsolescence since a worn (carbon) brush makes it fit for the trash.

    • If the fault is in the electronic module, clever cutting can make an acceptable repair possible as shown in this ElectroMax video.

    • The speed control knob is easy to disassemble by inserting a knife blade under the graduated circle and prying it up.

    • There are three obstacles to the removal of the motor and electronics module from this mixer:

    • The entire motor block enclosure is firmly secured with adhesive.

    • This motor bearing fastener acts as a circular mount.

    • This plunger system fastener is a second circular mount.

    • I do not see a way around any of these three issues without a certain amount of "destruction".

    • One of the two leads has broken off. Possibly made fragile by improper assembly?

    • Correctly resoldering the lead lets the motor operate normally again.

Conclusion

We do need to cut the shell off the mixer, which makes salvaging this part difficult.
