Introduction

Sometimes the brush bar of the direct-drive cleaner head attachment for the Dyson V8 Absolute will discontinue rotating if caught with too much debris. This guide will show you how to remove the brush bar for cleaning or replacement. This device comes with two other attachment heads, a Mini Motorized Head and a Soft Roller Cleaner Heads, with brush bars that follow similar steps in locating the fastener to remove the brush bar.

    • First, make sure the device is unplugged and detached from the wand

    • Use a quarter to unlock the fastener marked by padlocks, turning it counter clockwise

    • Slide the brush bar away from the cleaner head

I don't have a quarter but tried with a NZ 20 cent coil & could not turn it. What now?

While a clogged head was not the reason my Dyson V8 was stuttering, logic prompted me to check the big tube for an obstruction. My Dyson had a hairball as a result of picking up after my cat. Thank you!

My daughters Dyson V8 head is not powering the tube and rotating head. I have a Dyson V10 animal which I can attach to the V8 tube and rotating head and operates, so the problem is in the power head. I have cleaned the contacts and don’t know what else to do. Any suggestions?
