Introduction

Hard drives store most of the information on a computer. The hard drive of a computer must be replaced if the computer crashes. Hard drive replacement is an important skill for desktop PC users.

    • Unplug the computer from the power supply before any maintenance or disassembly.

    • Remove the two Phillips #2 head 5mm screws from the back side of the computer case. You only need to remove the screws that hold down the panel.

    • These screws can usually be removed by hand.

    • Be sure to wear an anti-static bracelet or use an anti-static mat to ensure important components are not damaged by static electricity.

    This depends on the model of system. Some systems have a lever/latch to pull to release the cover. Many Dell and HP models use latches to open the covers (no tools required to open the system). Some systems need a screwdriver to remove the screws. Some are Phillips screws, others may be Torx.

    • Next, remove the side panel of the computer case to allow access into the computer. Slide the panel towards the back of the computer and lift it up to remove.

    • If there is a fan mounted on the side panel, make sure to unplug the cable before fully removing the panel.

    • Remove two Phillips #2 head 5mm screws from the back side of the computer case.

    • Next, remove the side panel of the computer case to allow access into the computer.

    Not always necessary to do this step.

Pour remonter l'installation,

-remonter le disque dur faite le glisser dans la cage métallique

- fixer le disque dur avec les vis retirées

-fixer les câbles à l'arrière du disque( câble d'alimentation et nappe de données)

-mettre les panneaux dans l'ordre du retrait
