Introduction
The line of a weed whacker will often shorten and break due to use over time. Follow this guide to change the line on your Black and Decker 12-inch Grass Hog Automatic Feed String Trimmer (Model No.GH400).
Before beginning this repair, make sure your weed whacker is off and not connected to power before trying to replace the line. You'll need 1.7mm of line for the trimmer and a pair of scissors.

To prepare a new line for your weed whacker, use your utility scissors and cut a piece of line between 30 cm and 50 cm long.

Press the buttons on the opposite sides of the trimmer cover and lift it off the head of the trimmer.

Remove any remaining pieces of old line by sliding it out of the space it sits in.

Insert the new line into the opening.

Place spool back in place and snap it into place.

Place the cover back on the head of the weed whacker.

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.
