Introduction
If the courtesy door lamp on your 2016 Nissan Altima is no longer lighting up due to a burnt out bulb or other damages to lamp housing, use this guide to replace it.
The door courtesy step lamp produces a light near the ground while the car door is open. The light produced is useful for seeing where a driver and/or passenger will step while entering or exiting the vehicle in the dark. Not only is a non functioning door lamp visually unappealing, but could be dangerous if you misstep and fall in the dark.
This guide describes how to replace the courtesy lamp housing/light bulb combination. If your courtesy lamp is not producing light due to faulty wiring, spark plugs, or other reasons not caused by the light itself, this guide will not fix your issue.
Before starting this guide, make sure you turn off your vehicle to disconnect the power going to the courtesy lamp. Place the car in park and engage the parking brake.
