Introduction
This guide will show you how to replace the electronic throttle body in your 2005 Mazda 6. You may need to replace the electronic throttle body if your car is idling high or low, if your car shakes, or if you receive the following codes P1120, P1121, or P1122 on your OBD-II Scan Tool Report.
The electronic throttle body is in charge of accelerating and decelerating the engine actioned by the gas pedal. When this part malfunctions, the engine does not work properly.
Before using this guide, make sure to check the electrical connection on the electronic throttle body; a bad electrical contact might be responsible for causing the system failure. If you have a check engine light, make sure the codes read by the OBD-II Scan Tool are any of these P1120, P1121, or P1122.
On one of the steps, you are required to dismount the electronic throttle body from the intake manifold; be sure to cover the entrance to avoid any unwanted object getting into it.
Before starting the process, make sure to use protective heavy-duty gloves to avoid any injuries. Turn off the car's ignition, place the car in park, and engage the parking brake.
