Background and Identification
The iPhone 1st Generation Dock is a charging accessory for the original iPhone. This first-generation charging dock is compatible with the iPhone 1st Generation, iPhone 3G, and iPhone 3GS. Essentially, it allows the attached iPhone to charge while being supported upright. This is a perfect orientation for your iPhone if you’re working away at a desk and don’t want to miss any notifications.
While this product has been long since discontinued from Apple, there are still a variety of similar devices sold in the Apple Store. For instance, Apple sells the iPhone Lightning Dock for iPhone models with the Lightning Connector. This iPhone Lightning Dock comes in black, silver, or gold, which is an improvement from the original white-only model. Additionally, in this newer model, the iPhone sits entirely on top of the dock base, unlike in the iPhone 1st Generation Dock where the iPhone rested in a notch.
The iPhone 1st Generation Dock includes a charging stub for compatible iPhone models, a slim base to keep the device propped upright, and a cord that connects to the wall or to a computer. It is white in color.
