Background

The Zoom Q3HD Handy Video Recorder is an audio and video recording device that records in 720p or 1080p. Zoom is a Japanese audio company that is sold in the United States under the name “Zoom North America.” Zoom has become known for producing handheld recorders, audio for video solutions, multi-effects, and products around its own microchip designs.

The Zoom Q3HD Video Recorder is the successor to Zoom’s first handheld, point-and-shoot camcorder. Users can capture up to 7 hours of 720/30p video on a 32 GB card. The video recordings can be played back on the device’s 2.4-inch liquid-crystal display, on an analog or HDTV, or on a Mac or PC computer. Users can edit the recordings using the built-in USB cable and the HandyShare editing software. The Zoom Q3HD also includes YouTube Uploader software that helps users upload their recordings. The Zoom Q3HD also includes 4x digital zoom, audio level controls, and ‘AA’ or NiMH battery power. Additional accessories and an optional widescreen were sold separately. The recorder also allows users to choose among three different lighting settings, including “Auto,” “Concert Lighting,” and “Night.”

The Zoom Q3HD Video Recorder includes one USB 2.0 port, one HDMI Type-A port, and one 1/8-inch/3.5 mm stereo port.
