Background and Identification

Whirlpool is a brand name owned by the Whirlpool Corporation, a United States-based maker of home appliances. The company was founded in 1911 as the Upton Machine Company. They merged with the Nineteen Hundred Washer Company in 1929, and renamed the corporation to the Whirlpool Corporation in 1950. Whirlpool is well-known for their social and environmental activism policies and practices. Whirlpool sells a variety of home appliances, largely focused on kitchen and cleaning applications. This includes ovens, refrigerators, microwaves, washing and drying machines, and more.

The Whirlpool Quiet Partner II is a type of Whirlpool dishwasher with noise-dampening insulation. There are also Quiet Partner I and Quiet Partner III lines with differing levels of insulation. The Quiet Partner II insulation levels are in between these two lines, and Quiet Partner II dishwashers produce about 60 decibels of noise while running (a similar level of noise as a conversation between two people happening next to you).
