Background and Identification

Turbidimeters are used to measure the surface area of the suspended particles in a liquid,. In other words, turbidimeters determine the clarity (cloudiness) of a liquid by measuring the light particles in the liquid. Turbidimeters are generally used to measure the quality of water, especially for clean drinking water. Older turbidimeters used to measure light from a 90 degree angle, but newer ones are able to measure the all 360 degrees.
