Background and Identification
Tiger Corporation is a Japanese manufacturer of household appliances. Rice cookers branded by Tiger have been produced and marketed by Tiger Corporation since 2006. A rice cooker (or rice steamer) is a kitchen appliance designed to steam and cook rice. Conventionally, rice cookers consist of a heat source, a cooking bowl, and a thermostat, which measures the temperature of the cooking bowl and controls the heat.
The JAH-A10A has a 5.65 cup capacity, meaning it can hold up to 5.5 cups of uncooked rice. Also, the JAH-A10A can cook porridge and various types of rice. It also has a “Keep Warm” function which can keep food in the rice cooker warm for up to 12 hours.
The rice cooker has a built-in lithium battery to store the current time and the present time even after the AC power cord is unplugged. The battery has a four-to-five year life expectancy, given the power cord is unplugged. When the battery is dead, “0:00” will blink on the display once the power cord is plugged in. However, this will not affect the normal cooking functions.
Before cleaning the rice cooker, make sure the device is unplugged and has had time to cool down. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions on proper cleaning procedures.
