Background and Identification
Released in 2016, the Samsung Galaxy Tab A6 is a mid-range tablet designed to take after the Samsung Galaxy A series phones. The Tab A series is part of the larger Galaxy Tab series, which introduced the first Android based tablet in 2010. The Galaxy Tab A6 comes in three sizes: 7.0”, 8.9”, and 10.1”. WiFi versions come equipped with a GPS system and 3G/4G tablets include cellular capability.
The Tab A6 runs on Android 5.1.1 (Lollipop) with a Quad-core 1.3 Ghz Cortex-A53 processor and a Qualcomm MSM8916 Snapdragon 410 chipset. Its internal memory is 8GB expandable via microSD up to 256 GB and has 1.5 GB of RAM. The design of the A6 is similar to most of Samsung A series tablets—plastic casing with rounded edges. It has an IPS LCD type capacitive touch screen and 16M colors. The size and resolution of the tablet’s screen depend on the tablet size.
