Background and Identification
Samsung Android tablets include the Galaxy Tab, Galaxy Note, Galaxy View, and Galaxy Book series. Samsung tablets are major competitors of Apple’s iPads.
The most popular series is the Samsung Galaxy Tab. Samsung launched the first tablet in the series, the 7-inch Samsung Galaxy Tab, also know as the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.0, in 2010. There are many sub-series that comprise the Samsung Galaxy Tab line, including the budget friendly E series, the mid-range A series, and the high-end S series.
Samsung’s Galaxy Note series includes a stylus, or “S Pen,” providing a major distinction between this series and other Samsung Galaxy tablets.
In 2015, Samsung released the Galaxy View, a large 18.4-inch tablet, typically used for video and media streaming. In 2019, Samsung released the Galaxy View 2, which was downsized to 17.3 inches.
The Samsung Galaxy Book series, which debuted in 2017, is Samsung’s line of 2-in-1 hybrid laptop tablets. The first Galaxy Book was succeeded by the Galaxy Book2 in 2018, followed by the Galaxy Book S in 2020.
