Background
The Ryobi Sliding Compound Miter Saw TSS120L was released in 2018 by Ryobi Tools. Compound miter saws, also known as chop saws, are mainly used for home projects and in construction, but they can be used for a number of things. Specifically, compound miter saws can be useful for cutting things like crown moulding, picture frames, or really anything that needs a precise angled cut. The compound miter saw is able to make plunge cuts and angled cuts like a normal miter saw, but it can also make bevel cuts.
Additionally, this specific compound miter saw has an adjustable laser attached. The benefit of an attached laser is that it provides users with greater accuracy when performing cuts. Its cut capacity reaches up to 13-.5 inches for cross cuts.
The Ryobi Sliding Compound Miter Saw TSS120L (2018) includes nine pre-determined stopping positions. These positions stop at angles that are commonly used. It also includes an electric break for additional safety measures. An electric break helps the compound miter saw to stop the blade faster.
Finally, two table extensions are included. These extensions provide additional support for work with large pieces.
Identification
The Ryobi Sliding Compound Miter Saw TSS120L (2018) is made up of two major sections. The base of the compound miter saw is a light gray color. This part is called the miter table. It is a mostly circular shape, with the exception of the table extensions that are off to each side of the base. The table extensions are in sort of a winged shaped. In the center of the base, or miter table, is the control arm. The control arm sticks out of the base, and is a yellow color. On top of the base is also the sliding meter fence. The sliding miter fence has a ruler engraved into it.
The top section of the compound miter saw is where the blade is. The blade is attached to a dark gray arm, which is attached to the base. Also attached to the dark gray arm is the dust bag, which is white. The blade of the miter saw has a circular shape. Both the bag and the blade have the "RYOBI" logo on it. The model number can be found on the black label that is printed on the tool.
