Ridgid 1/4 Sheet Sander R2501 (2018)

The Ridgid 1/4 Sheet Sander R2501 is a sheet sander made by Ridgid Tools.  It includes an easily loadable 2.4 Amp system utilizing 120 volts of power. The on-board vacuum adapter can also support 1-¼” or 2-½” hose. The airguard, which is an on-board dust collection system collects up to 90% of dust. The device was first released in 2018, and is still being mass manufactured. This device is sold world wide and is intended for anyone in the woodworking realm such as, woodshop students, construction workers, craftsmen, and anyone looking to create a product of their own using this device. This sander can be used along with any other form of sanding or carving tool; It is usually used to create a flat and level surface. For example, a sheet sander can be used to smooth over a wooden counter-top in order to later finish of the project with a top coat of paint. Overall, the selling price for this device is anywhere from a reasonable range of $39-$45.

The front clip seems to be a recurring issue in this product as it tends to become weak and no longer capable of holding the recommended sandpaper. This is a wide spread complaint across its ratings on all websites.

The Ridgid 1/4 Sheet Sander R2501 (2018) has a flat plate sanding pad with a convenient front clip for holding paper. On the rear is an AirGuard Technology dust collector that collects 90% of dust from sanding. In the center above the sheet is a permanent magnet motor that maintains constant speed and power under a load. The top left and right sides of the sander have the on and off button; The button with an O symbol on it will power it on while the button with the line on it will power it off. On one side of the device, there is also an adjustable tab that locks that sandpaper into place. The dust bag can be unlocked or locked by rotating the orange slide at the top of the dust bag from the unlocked symbol to the locked symbol. The paper punch template is used to punch the correct holes in your sandpaper after they are placed on the sanding pad (you must align the puncher with the pad before pressing down).
