Background
The Ridgid Sander EB4424 can be used as both an edge belt and spindle sander in order to create even curves, both internally and externally. The tool is most commonly used for sanding plain wood but also works on metals and painted materials.
The reviews for this device are generally in the middle, with many users finding the product powerful and versatile, while others express issues with starting the motor and troubles accessing certain aspects of the device without causing damage to the device and accessories. Additionally, some of the parts, like #830291 (the fan), are no longer manufactured meaning replacement parts may be unavailable for order or difficult to obtain.
Identification
When trying to identify this tool, the Ridgid logo can be located on the front bottom of the device on the left of the On-Off switch as well as on the foldable front table. When stored, the sanding belt should be positioned in the back of the device and the sanding drums/spacer rings should fit underneath the front table. To check if the device is currently in storage "mode," check the front table lock knob on the right. To assemble and use, unscrew the lock knob and release the front table. Move and lock the sanding belt to the top of the device. The device's dust collection port should be located on the back above the sanding belt storage section and can be connected to standard-sized shop vacs.
