Background
The Respironics Quantum PSV was invented in 1997 by Philips Respironics, a leading company in sleep apnea management, oxygen therapy, noninvasive ventilation, and respiratory drug delivery. Not just limited to the manufacturing of respiratory appliances and devices, Philips Respironics innovate solutions and practices for patients suffering from respiratory illnesses.
The Respironics Quantum PSV is a type of noninvasive positive pressure ventilation (NIPPV) that assists patients with respiratory issues to breathe by maintaining an open airway and providing ventilation via Pressure Support Ventilation. Additionally, the device functions to monitor the patient's respiratory status.
Identification
To identify the Respironics Quantum PSV 7700, the front of the device should possess panel indicators displaying a pressure bar cm H20. To the left of the pressure bar, there is a power button with an indicator that will appear light-yellow when the device is turned on. To the right of the pressure bar, there will be a label "ALERT STATUS," with three buttons located underneath it. From top to bottom, the buttons are labeled "POWER," "PATIENT," and "SYSTEM." The alarm control indicator RED System can be configured to EPAP, IPAP, rise time, the rate and timing% I. Underneath the power button and the indicator, there will be two buttons to select the mode. The available modes include CPAP, SPONT, and timed. The Respironics Quantum PSV 7700 displays the peak flow, minute volume, tidal volume, breath rate (BPM), CPAP/EPAP, IPAP, and time.
