Background Information
Panasonic's G-series introduced the world to the Micro Four Thirds standard and mirror-less system cameras in the shape of the DMC-G1 in 2008. The 9th installment in the series, the DMC-G5 improves on the shortcomings of its predecessors.
Its continuous shooting rate has improved since the G3 from 4 to 6 frames per second thanks to the MOS sensor. The resolution in the touch-sensitive rear LCD has also increased from 480 x 320 to approximately 640 x 480 pixels and the new Touchscreen AF LCD screen allows auto-focus to be completed with the touch of a finger. This camera sports a 16-megapixel sensor, with sensitivity ranging from ISO 160 to 12,800, and a broader than average compensation of +/-5EV in 1/3EV steps.
