Background and Identification

The Nonin Avant 2120 is a pulse oximeter manufactured by Nonin Medical. Pulse oximeters are non-invasive devices used to monitor a patient’s oxygen saturation. Nonin Medical designs and manufactures pulse oximeters, regional oximeters, and capnographs for patient monitoring.

The Nonin Avant 2120 is a portable pulse oximeter used to measure, display, and record the patient’s pulse rate, blood pressure, and functional oxygen saturation of arterial hemoglobin. This model can be used for spot-checking or continuous monitoring of patients. It is suitable for use with adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients. The Avant 2120 model can be used in hospitals, medical facilities, and subacute environments.

The Avant 2120’s blood pressure monitor is designed to non-invasively monitor the blood pressure of adult and pediatric patients. The blood pressure monitor is not designed to be used for neonatal patients. It is intended to be used for patients with arm circumferences between 18 and 42 centimeters.

Numeric light-emitting diodes (LEDs) in the upper left-hand corner of the 2120 model’s front face display the patient’s blood oxygen saturation as a percentage. The patient’s pulse rate is displayed in the lower numeric display in the device’s upper left-hand corner.

The Nonin Avant 2120 includes the name “NOVIN” printed in capital letters in the bottom center of the device’s front face. The model number, “2120,” is printed underneath the Novin name.
