Background and Identification

The Nonin 7500 is a pulse oximeter manufactured by Nonin Medical. Pulse oximeters are non-invasive devices used to monitor a patient’s oxygen saturation. Nonin Medical designs and manufactures pulse oximeters, regional oximeters, and capnographs for patient monitoring.

The Nonin model 7500 is a portable, digital pulse oximeter used to measure, display, and record the patient’s pulse rate and functional oxygen saturation of arterial hemoglobin. This model can be used for spot-checking or continuous monitoring of patients. It is suitable for use with adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients during motion and no-motion conditions. Patients who are either well or poorly perfused can safely use this device.

The Nonin 7500 pulse oximeter features a digital display that presents the patient’s pulse rate and oxygen saturation measurements. The oxygen saturation display is placed on the left-hand side of the 7500 model’s front panel. Oxygen saturation is displayed as a percentage from 0 to 100. During alarm conditions, the numeric displays blink. The patient’s pulse rate is displayed on the right-hand side of the 7500 model’s front face. Pulse rate is presented in beats per minute between 18 and 321. These LED displays present values for alarm limits, volume, and date and time settings when setting the pulse oximeter.

The name “NONIN” is printed in bold capital letters in the bottom center of the monitor’s front face. The number “7500” is printed below the Nonin name in smaller font.
