Background and Identification
The Nikon D3100 DSLR was released on August 19, 2010. It is part of the Nikon D series and succeeds the D3000. It can be identifiable by the "D3100" on the front left side of the camera. It comes packaged with an AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G VR lens. The D3100 only weighs about 16 oz.
Built for entry level photographers, this camera features a 14.2MP CMOS sensor with an 11-point autofocus system. D3100 is the first of its kind to capture 1080p HD videos. The camera has a large 3-inch LCD screen and is compatible with multiple lens attachments. It is capable of live view, 3 FPS continuous shooting, and has a scene auto selector.
