Background
The Nikon Coolpix S3500 is a compact digital camera produced as part of Nikon’s Coolpix line. The Coolpix series includes superzoom, bridge, travel-zoom, miniature compact, and waterproof/rugged cameras. Nikon Coolpix cameras are organized into five different model lines. A camera’s line is indicated by the first letter in the camera’s model name. Coolpix cameras include the A series, the AW (all weather) series, the L (life) series, the P (performance) series, and the S (style) series. Nikon’s “all-weather” Coolpix camera is designed to be waterproof up to 100 meters, freezeproof, and shockproof. Coolpix cameras generally include autofocus features, LCD screens, superzoom functionality, and Wi-Fi connectivity.
The Nikon Coolpix S3500 is part of the S (Style) series and features 20.1-megapixels. It has a focus range of 50 centimeters. Users can store media in SD/SDHC/SDXC memory cards. The S3500 includes a NIKKOR glass lens with lens-shift vibration reduction that helps minimize the blur caused by camera shake. The camera’s ‘Subject Tracking’ function locks onto moving subjects to keep the focus where users want it to be.
Identification
Nikon cameras can be identified by the name “Nikon” generally printed in white font directly above the camera’s lens assembly. Coolpix cameras generally include the name “Coolpix” printed in capital letters on the front of the device. Nikon Coolpix cameras commonly include a sticker or text with identifying information located either on the side of the lens or on the rear of the device.
