Background and Identification
Released in February 2011, the Nikon Coolpix L120 is a compact digital camera from NIkon’s Coolpix line that includes superzoom, bridge, travel-zoom, miniature compact, and waterproof/rugged cameras. The L120 features a 14.1 megapixel CCD (charge-coupled device) for high image quality, a 21x wide-angle optical zoom NIKKOR glass lens, and a 5-way VR image stabilization system. Additionally, the L120 has the EXPEED C2 for enhanced image quality and processing speed and a 3-inch ultra-high resolution (921,000) dot Clear Color display.
The 21x zoom lens on the L120 is equivalent with a 25-525mm range lens to provide a similar experience to professional grade cameras. Moreover, the L120 has several intelligent features to aid beginner photographers. These include the 5-way image stabilization which uses sensor shift to minimize the effects of camera shake and a high ISO speed up to 6400 to capture fast moving subjects or low-light spaces.
The L120 is also equipped for video recording with its one-touch HD movie recording that shoots 720p HD in full stereo. Users can also activate the camera’s zoom function to capture close-ups.
