Background and Identification

The Milwaukee Sander 6034-21 is a 5" random orbit palm sander manufactured in 2016. A random orbital sander, according to Wikipedia, is a hand-held power tool which sands in a random-orbit action which eliminates swirl marks. A random orbit sander is used in woodworking, carpentry, and auto body repair to smooth surfaces before painting and staining.

The Milwaukee Sander 6034-21 features both hook and loop and PSA (pressure-sensitive adhesive) pad systems. Some users reported the hook and loop pad malfunctioned shortly after purchasing. Users also reported the electronic soft start failing and being unable to power the device on.

This model of sander can identified by the distinctive red color and the white “Milwaukee” logo on the base. It is distinguishable from the later generation of Milwaukee orbit palm sander by its corded power source.
