Background and Identification

The Microsoft Wireless Laser Mouse 6000 and 5000 is a range of wireless computer mice produced by Microsoft. Microsoft has produced a range of computer mice since the original Microsoft Mouse that was released in 1983. The Microsoft Mouse line has undergone numerous improvements since this original model, resulting in mice with sleeker appearances, touch-sensitive technology, and better ergonomic design. The Microsoft Wireless Laser Mouse 6000 and 5000 computer mice were first released in July 2004.

The Microsoft Wireless Laser Mouse 6000 and 5000 includes a magnifier function that allows the user to zoom in and edit work. To use the Magnifier function, press and hold to enlarge the area of your screen that fits inside the lend. Users can adjust the size of the lens and the level of its magnification. The mouse features horizontal and vertical scrolling as well as customizable buttons. A smart receiver in the mouse cuts interference from other devices. The mouse’s scroll wheel tilts from side to side, acts as a button, and can react to how quickly the user rolls the wheel.

Microsoft Mice range in shape and appearance. Many models are flat on the bottom with a curved surface, fitting the description of a generic computer mouse. Other models have more modern, untraditional appeals, such as the Arc Mouse and Arc Touch Mouse, which only contact the table at the front and back of the mouse.
