Background and Identification
Makita is a Japanese power tool manufacturer that was founded in 1915. It is a leading brand of professional-grade tools. This company produces cordless tools, power tools, petrol equipment, and batteries. Their tools range from chainsaws and lawnmowers to drills and sanders. Sanders come in a variety of sizes and shapes, but all of them are used to smooth a rough surface using an abrasive pad like sandpaper. This product is a random orbital sander. This means that unlike a traditional orbital sander, the abrasive pad doesn’t move in a circular motion around a central axis. Instead, the pad on a random orbital sander spins in a random pattern. This is useful because it doesn’t form noticeable swirl marks on the surface like a traditional orbital sander might, and makes the surface look more even. This sander uses 5” abrasive paper, which can be switched out when it wears down over time.
