Background and Identification
The 14-inch Makita Power Cutter (model EK7651H), released in 2016, was the world’s first four-stroke power cutter. Unlike two-stroke engines, four-stroke engines do not require oil mixing so four-stroke engines eliminate the need for separate oil and fuel cans. The EK7651H model (also called the EK7651HD model) is designed to cut through concrete up to 3.813 inches thick. It includes a 14-inch cutting blade, a dust blower, and various hand tools.
The EK7651H model features an automatic engine decompression valve to reduce the required pull-start force. The cutter’s engine consumes approximately .45 gallons of fuel per hour. It also features a pressure-compensating carburetor with a vented choke plate designed to reduce engine flooding by automatically delivering the proper amount of fuel to the engine. The EK7651H model includes an external fuel tank vent to reduce pressure build-up within the tank. It also features a five-stage, foam-paper-nylon filtration system that is designed to provide cleaner air for improved engine durability.
The EK7651H model includes a wrench (782236-0), Torx wrench (782025-3), Torx screwdriver (783012-5), adapter ring (20 mm to 1 in.) (394-228-121), tool kit (195488-8), oil bottle (195532-1), water supply kit (195533-9).
The EK7651H model can be identified by the name “Makita” in lower-case letters on the main arm of the power cutter. The main body of the saw is teal, and the cutter-shield is silver-colored. The model number and other identifying information can be found on a white sticker located on the vertical section of the main handle.
