Background and Identification
Makita is a Japanese power tool manufacturer that was founded in 1915. It is a leading brand of professional-grade tools. This company produces cordless tools, power tools, petrol equipment, and batteries. Their tools range from wrenches and drills to chainsaws, lawnmowers, and demolition hammers. Demolition hammers, sometimes called jackhammers, work when the engine vibrates a chisel or other tool attached to the end of the hammer, while the user balances the hammer so that the chisel bores into a surface. The chisel breaks up the surface, creating pieces that can be more easily disposed of.
The Makita Jackhammer HM1214C uses anti-vibration technology to reduce strain on the tool user. It does this with the help of a counterbalance weight inside the hammer. Each time the hammer strikes a surface, the counterbalance shifts and exerts a force to cancel out the vibrations from the impact of the hammer on the surface. This is safer for the user, and it improves the jackhammer’s efficiency.
