The Makita Chain Saw EA4300FRDB (2017) (models EA4300F and EA4300FR) is a gas-powered rear-handle chainsaw. It is a compact, relatively light hand chainsaw that weighs just over 15 pounds. A chainsaw is a portable, mechanical saw (a tool consisting of a tough blade, wire, or chain with a hard-toothed edge) which cuts with a set of teeth attached to a rotating chain that runs along a guide bar.

The EA4300FRDB model includes a spring-assisted starter and ‘Memory Power Ignition’ to make starting the chainsaw easier for users. The chainsaw also includes a fleece air filter that features a two-piece cover for easier maintenance. It also has a large metal spike bar at the end of the bar closest to the user that can be used to assist cutting. The chainsaw’s bar is 16-inches long and has a maximum cut diameter of about 15.75-inches. A single lever control can shut off the chainsaw’s engine with a touch of the user’s hand. It also features a vibration-damping handle to make operation more comfortable for users.

The EA4300FRDB model is “CARB compliant,” meaning that the chainsaw meets the California Air Resources Board’s rules and regulations for air pollution. The chainsaw can hold 48 ounces, or about 0.375 of a gallon, of fuel.

This Makita chainsaw can be identified by its body’s orange color and the name “Makita” in lower-case letters on the bar and handle of the machine. A white sticker on the inside of the main handle can also tell users which chainsaw model they have.
