Features

The charger features a flip-up inductive charging pad for the Watch to support Nightstand Mode, though it may have to be only partly opened to support 44mm, 45mm, and 49mm Watches. Watches can also be charged flat. The Duo Charger does not support Apple Watch fast charging (Series 7, 8, and Ultra).

The Duo Charger provides a maximum of 14W wireless charging to an iPhone with a 20W or higher USB-C power adapter connected. Charging wattage is less with lesser adapters, and when both an iPhone and Apple Watch are charging together.

A 1 meter USB-C to Lightning cable is included.

The Duo Charger isn't compatible with the Apple 29W USB-C Power Adapter. USB-A charging is not supported.

Specifications

The model number is MHXF3AM/A. Firmware can be updated by leaving it plugged into power with an iPhone charging; the iPhone will update it.

Authenticity of the Duo Charger can be verified by looking in Settings, General, About. The Charger is listed under the Wireless details (similar to the MagSafe Battery Pack).

Charging power with a USB-C adapter source:

  • 9V/2.22A power adapter provides up to 11W of power.
  • 9V/3A and higher power adapter provides up to 14W of power.
  • iPhone 12 mini and iPhone 13 mini can get up to 12W for faster wireless charging with at least 9V/2.62A.
  • Higher wattage adapters at or above 9V/3A will also deliver a maximum of up to 14W peak power.

When charging an iPhone at Apple Watch at once, the MagSafe Duo Charger requires at least 15W (5V/3A or 9V/1.67A), but this results in slower charging.
