Background

The Mac Studio is Apple's mid-range, compact desktop computer. The second iteration was released in June 2023, offering an upgraded chip from the previous model. The Mac Studio (2023) is available with the M2 Max or the M2 Ultra chip. The M2 Max model starts at $1,999.00 and the M2 Ultra model starts at $3,999.00. The Mac Studio is aimed at creative professionals, with the new chips excelling at video editing, music production, and 3D rendering.

Identification

The Mac Studio is a small, silver cube with the following dimensions: 7.7 x 7.7 x 3.7 in (19.7 x 19.7 x 9.5 cm). It looks like a Mac Mini, but is about 2-3 times taller.

The underside of the device has Mac Studio engraved on it. The Mac Studio (2023) can be identified by model number A2901 which is printed on the bottom cover along with the serial number.
